Follow Jesus

The greatest decision you'll ever make.

Life is full of important decisions — but none is more significant than choosing to follow Jesus Christ.

An Invitation

Whether you've been searching for hope, wondering about life's purpose, or simply feel there must be something more, know this: God loves you, and He is inviting you into a personal relationship with Himself.

At Calvary Community Wesleyan Church, we believe that no one is beyond God's love or His grace. No matter where you've been or what your story looks like, Jesus offers forgiveness, hope, and a brand-new beginning.

Where It Begins

Why do we need Jesus?

The Bible teaches that every person was created by God and for God. Yet, all of us have sinned and fallen short of God's perfect standard.

Sin separates us from God. We cannot earn our way back to Him by simply trying harder or becoming a "better person."

The good news is that God didn't leave us separated from Himself. Because of His incredible love, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a perfect life, die on the cross for our sins, and rise again three days later so that we could have forgiveness and eternal life.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Romans 3:23
But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:8

Grace, Not Performance

Salvation is a gift.

You don't have to clean up your life before coming to Jesus. You don't have to earn His acceptance. Salvation isn't based on good works, religious traditions, or personal achievements.

It is God's free gift, received by grace through faith.

Jesus has already done everything necessary to make a relationship with God possible.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.”
Ephesians 2:8–9

A Simple Path

How do I become a Christian?

Becoming a follower of Jesus begins with faith. The Bible teaches four simple truths:

01

Admit your need for God.

Recognize that you are a sinner in need of His forgiveness.

02

Believe in Jesus Christ.

Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, defeating sin and death.

03

Turn toward God.

Repentance means choosing to turn away from sin and begin following Christ with your life.

04

Trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Place your faith in Him — not in yourself — and receive the gift of eternal life.

“If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Romans 10:9

A Prayer of Faith

If you're ready to trust Jesus . . .

. . . Place your trust in Jesus. You can pray something like this:

Heavenly Father,I know that I have sinned and that I need Your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose again so that I could have eternal life. Today I turn from my old life and place my trust completely in You. Thank You for loving me, forgiving me, and making me Your child. Help me to follow You each day and grow in my faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Remember, these specific words do not save you. Salvation comes through genuine faith in Jesus Christ.

Choosing to follow Jesus is the beginning of an incredible journey — not the end.
